The lunar eclipse this Thursday/Friday has me thinking about the best places to get science news, activities and events for our students. Here are my go-to resources for keeping our academic calendar populated with interesting celestial events, local opportunities to participate in authentic scientific research and fun science festivals!
These resources vary from participatory science projects with special dates (like the City Nature Challenge) or year-long participation windows – to favorite magazines. We've done Shark Tooth Forensics together already and have a life list on Merlin. What are your favorite resources for engaging your students and/or children in science?
Participatory Science Projects
SciStarter (Comprehensive Database of Projects)
StudentsDiscover.org (Classroom-Friendly Projects)
Magazines
Space News
Museum and University Outreach (Greater Boston Area)
Science Festival (Massachusetts)
What would you add to this list?
