Clad in shadow-blending all black, our student-led enrichment kicked off with the click of a lock. Our would be spies were instructed in the art of lock picking.
They were quick to point out that these skills were only to be used for good and NOT evil. Thus everyone was warned not to pick a lock that doesn't belong to you. However, all were encouraged to consider this option when they needed to get their bike lock off but lost the key.
Instruction started with the anatomy of a lock. Thankfully our instructor had clear locks so that everyone could see the pins, cylinder, springs, and body. From there, we were introduced to the lock picking tools. You will need a special wrench and pick for this hobby.
We were then instructed on the proper use of our tools to imitate the function of a key and pop the lock. I'd give more details, but you should have been here.
Great fun was had by all and the first lesson for Spy School is in the books.
